Ceres is the ancient Roman goddess of the harvest. According to legend, she was born on the island of Sicily, which is where Giuseppe was born as well. She also graces the top of the Chicago Board of Trade building, placed there in tribute because it was trade in grain that helped put Chicago on the map. Carolyn, is Chicago-born. We honor Ceres, and her Sicily-Chicago connection that is also reflected in our family. Ceres is symbolic of a bountiful harvest. Giuseppe uses local, seasonal and sustainable products whenever possible in his interpretation of traditional recipes. We are a family owned restaurant located in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, dedicated to serving good food in an understated and relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you soon.
